SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Perform all types of complex tax returns at federal, multi-state, and international level including consolidated entity, high net worth expat individuals, trust and estate, gift tax with minimal supervision; Conduct tax research, tax planning and projections for individuals and business entities with minimal supervision; Analyze financial data, evaluate financial statements, consult with clients regarding bookkeeping or accounting issues; Evaluate, review staff accountants’ work, provide feedback, and report to managers and partners; Initiate client contact for planning and scheduling work, participate actively in client meetings, strengthen quality client relationship and loyalty; Develop knowledge of accounting principles and tax laws and a thorough understanding of tax return process commensurate with role; Enhance working knowledge of Axcess Tax, tax planning software, Engagement and QuickBooks; Demonstrate critical self-review skills, develop a sense of scope and exercise good judgment, identify opportunities for improved performance in the next engagement; Deliver a complete high quality work product that is organized, in compliance with workflow standards, and can be efficiently reviewed by supervisors and managers; Keep managers informed on progress and difficulties encountered toward meeting due dates on projects/reports; Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and read professional publications and new regulations; Meet chargeable annual hour goal as determined by partners (currently 1,650 hours for full-time staff).
JOB REQUIREMENT:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Economics.
- At least 2 years of experience in tax accounting and compliance performing tax returns for corporations, partnerships, trusts, and high net-worth individuals.
- This position also requires experience or education in the following skills:
- Analyze Internal Revenue Code sections in connection with applicable regulations, and other authoritative IRS promulgations, including Revenue Procedures.
- Prepare tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and high net-worth individuals, including forms 1120, 1120S, 1065 and supplemental schedules.
- Prepare and analyze multi-state business entity tax returns, including the ability to apply state revenue sourcing and apportionment factor.
- Prepare and analyze fiduciary, estate, and gift tax returns including forms 1041, 706, 709, and the death-date basis step-up calculation.
- Prepare and analyze income tax returns for expats, K-1 foreign disclosures, foreign tax credit, Form 8938 and FBAR requirements.
- Perform cash basis and accrual basis accounting, financial statement analysis, Accrual to cash conversion, GAAP basis, Tax basis capital account reporting requirements, and reconciling retained earnings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and online research skills utilizing web-based research tools.
SALARY:
$80,000 – $105,000 per annum
